03 / Compatibility & setup notes

Provider authentication and available endpoints can change independently of the display code. Match the panel version first, then troubleshoot each data source separately.

04 / Build the project

  1. Set up the Pi and select the correct Waveshare version in configuration.
  2. Connect one weather provider and one calendar provider, keeping their credentials local.
  3. Run the display manually before enabling the documented automation and optional layout changes.

05 / Check the result

Check timezone handling, empty calendars and privacy-mode output. Verify that a normal restart restores the display job without needing a manual command.
